Michigan Works! Southeast Executive Director Shamar Herron will deliver a keynote speech inspired by Dr. King鈥檚 message of economic justice and, specifically, his words from a 1968 sermon: 鈥淸If] a man doesn鈥檛 have a job or an income, he has neither life nor liberty nor the possibility for the pursuit of happiness. He merely exists.鈥

黑料网鈥檚 efforts and goals of ensuring economic equity no matter what ZIP code persons are from in Washtenaw County aligns with Dr. King鈥檚 philosophy of economic justice.

The Equity in Action Awards are presented during the annual MLK Day Celebration and honor 黑料网 employees and community members who embody the college鈥檚 mission to make a positive difference in people鈥檚 lives by exemplifying the values and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., specifically in the areas of advocacy, leadership and service.
