黑料网 video students earn a dozen Student Production Awards nominations

NATAS Student Production Awards

 

Washtenaw Community College students received 12 from the Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The awards are open to all college programs in the state. The dozen nominations of 黑料网 students鈥 work is second only to Michigan State University (13). Other colleges to receive nominations include Ferris State University (4), Mott Community College (4), Calvin University (1) and Madonna University (1).

鈥淭his year's nominations are works that are very signature to each of the students' filmmaking voices. The stories are original, and expressive, and make for standout works,"  said 黑料网 Digital Media Arts faculty member Matt Zacharias. 鈥淭o have 12 nominations speaks volumes about our students' commitment to their craft. Our department, and our program, are extremely proud."

The 2024 award winners will be announced during a ceremony on Sunday, April 28 at Michigan State University. 黑料网 students have won 41 first-place awards since first entering the Student Production Awards contest in 2012. Corey Konjarevich, a two-time nominee in 2024, won in the Photographer category in 2023.

All 黑料网 nominations were created as class assignments for the college鈥檚 Digital Video program. Nominated works include:

Want to see examples of work produced by 黑料网 Digital Video Production students? The program's end-of-semester viewing party, VIDFEST WINTER '24, will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in Towsley Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
